The
Five Cricketers of the Year represent a tradition that dates back in
Wisden to 1889, making this the oldest individual award in cricket. It
is termed as the cricket’s ‘bible’ which has been published annually
since 1864 in which a player can only be named as a ‘Cricketer of the
Year’ once in his career.
The cricketing names chosen for this year included Jonny Bairstow, Brendon McCullum, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes and Kane Williamson.
