Afridi and Miandad got involved in an ugly war of words on Sunday, when Afridi said that Miandad was always talking about money. In response, Miandad accused Afridi of being involved in match fixing. But on Tuesday, Wasim Akram stepped in and spoke to Shahid Afridi in an attempt to defuse the tension after Afridi 's   intention to initiate legal action against Miandad . Pakistan thrashed Canada by 3-1 in the first match of 25th edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia. Mohammad Qadir scored two goals in the first half of the match. Richard Holdreth reduced the deficit in the 48th minute before Mohammad Tousiq converted a penalty corner to give Pakistan a 3-1 lead over Canada. Pakistan maintained the lead till the end and won the match. Australia, Japan, India, New Zealand, Canada, Pakistan, and host Malaysia are competing in the annual Hockey Cup
